What is this site?
A community forum built around small, focused groups. Members join the groups that interest them, start discussions, and reply to each other. Reading is open to everyone; posting needs an account.
Do I need an account?
Only to take part. Anyone can browse the public groups and read discussions without signing up. Creating an account lets you post, reply, and join groups.
How do I join a group?
Open Find a Group, pick one, and use the join button. Open groups add you straight away. Some groups ask an admin to approve your request first, and a few are invitation-only.
How do I start a discussion?
Go to a group you have joined and use the button to start a discussion. Give it a clear opening — what happened, what you tried, or what you want to know. Discussions with specifics tend to get better replies.
Who can see what I post?
Anything posted in a public group can be read by anyone on the internet, including search engines. Private groups are visible only to their members. Assume public unless the group says otherwise, and share accordingly.
Can I edit or delete something I posted?
Yes. Your own discussions and replies have edit and delete links on them. Deleting a discussion removes its replies too.
How do I change my display name or photo?
Open your profile from the top navigation. You can change your display name, photo, and notification preferences there at any time.
Something looks wrong or unkind. What do I do?
Every post has a report link. Reporting is private — the author is not told who reported it. A site admin reviews reports and decides what to do.
How do I leave a group or close my account?
You can leave any group from that group's page. To close your account entirely, contact a site admin using the feedback link.
